Superintendent's Message August, 2010 To Parents, Guardians, Students, and Friends of Bunker Hill CUSD #8: Welcome back to another year with the Bunker Hill Community Unit School District. We are privileged in this community to enjoy a location that is safe and friendly. It is a wonderful place to raise our children. It is no secret that the State of Illinois’ financial situation is dramatically affecting every citizen in every community within the State. The Bunker Hill Board of Education and School District have worked very diligently to assure that our students’ education is affected as minimally as possible. We continue to have very high test scores and our students and school usually rank at the top of the Macoupin County listing. Those student scores are the direct result of a outstanding effort by our teachers, the students themselves and the caring family environments from which our students come. The Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff of the Bunker Hill School District continue to be committed to assuring that each student will receive the very best education possible within the resources available to them. We believe in our students. We believe in their capabilities and their dreams. Our students affirm the solidity and placement of that trust and belief every day. This year, make plans to attend ball games, fine arts activities and other events. Participate by attending and become acquainted with our students and staff. We are proud of all that we accomplish.
