Good evening, Bunker Hill families –

This morning, the administrators and directors of Bunker Hill CUSD 8 met in order to finalize our Covid-19 emergency closure plan.  We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we work through this unprecedented public health crisis over the next couple of weeks.

For now, here is how we will operate until further notice:

Meals will be distributed at 4 different locations in a drive thru fashion from 11:00 AM—12:00 PM daily beginning on Monday, 3/17/2020:

  • Wolf Ridge Education Center 700 W. Orange Street
  • Bunker Hill Superintendents’ Office 504 E. Warren Street
  • Royal Lakes Community Center 549 W. Shipman Road
  • Woodburn Bible Church parking lot (still awaiting official confirmation) 7318 Walnut Street

In order to help us estimate meal counts for preparation during the first week, please visit this link, or call your child’s school with meal requests: http://bit.ly/2Qg3TBL

Beginning on Monday, both schools will be open from 10 AM to 3 PM for parents to pick up their child’s medications, continued learning kits, or ask last minute questions of staff.  After Monday, and for the duration of this closure, both schools will be closed to the public.  If you need assistance, please call the school.  If you need in-person assistance, the Superintendent’s Office will be the only building in our district open for public entry.

If you need Wi-Fi access over the next two weeks, we will (by Tuesday) have removed the password protection from the BHHS and Superintendent’s Office wireless network.  If you need to access it, we prefer you do so from your vehicle either at the north side of BHHS or from the south side of the Superintendent’s Office.

We realize this is a unique and rapidly evolving situation, and our plan will also continue to evolve.  If you have any suggestions, as always, please reach out to me at tdugan@bhcusd.org In the meantime, stay safe and healthy, follow CDC guidelines https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html, and look after each other! Continue to follow updates on our website.

Thanks,

Todd
